SIRLOIN STEAK AND SHISHITO PEPPER SKEWERS WITH MISO-GLAZED FINGERLING POTATOES
6-26-17 – Sirloin Steak and Shishito Pepper Skewers with Miso-Glazed Fingerling Potatoes
So, look at that picture! Do I really even need to do a review on this one? These Sirloin Steak and Shishito Pepper Skewers with Miso-Glazed Fingerling Potatoes were seriously amazing! The sirloin steak was marinated in a Tonkatsu sauce that gives them an amazing Asian flavor, and helps them caramelize on the grill while they are cooking. The onions were tasty and the Shishito peppers were really good. I have never had this kind of pepper before, so I was anxious to try it. It has a little bit of spice, but more of a fresh, green taste that went really well with the meat marinade. The fingerling potatoes were swirled in a miso and brown sugar glaze before roasting, and they turned out wonderfully as well. They had a bit of a sweet flavor that went perfectly with the spicier flavors in the meat. I used my own metal skewers instead of the bamboo ones that were provided by Home Chef…but other than that, I didn’t change a thing. These were perfect just the way they came!
