This is me!
Hi there! I am Michele (with one “L”). Welcome to my little corner of the internet! If you love recipes, gardening, crafts and DIY projects, you will feel right at home here. So, grab a nice tall glass of icy sweet tea (with lemon and mint, of course!) and I will tell you all about myself and my little blog.
Me and my Daddy
I was born and raised in Texas, but eventually landed a corporate management job. (only a FEW years after this picture was taken!) My job transferred me to five different states over the next 18 years. I lived in Missouri, Louisiana, Michigan, Connecticut and Arkansas. South Carolina is my 7th state! (No, I am NOT part of the Witness Protection Program!) That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! 😉 Along the way, I met and married my awesome hubby, Al (a Connecticut Yankee!). He has been putting up with my craziness ever since! I have two grown daughters (Brittany and Jordan), who live in Texas, and two spoiled fur-covered monsters two sweet, precious dogs who are the love of my life. Their names are Guido and Boudreaux…and yes, I know those names are ridiculous!
These are my beautiful daughters! Jordan is on the left, and Brittany is on the right.
These are my two spoiled brats. It’s a good thing they are so darned cute or else they wouldn’t get away with half the stuff they do around here!
After realizing that I was tired of corporate life, I opened my own retail boutique selling handmade soaps and bath products that I made myself. This gave me an outlet to unleash all of my creative energy, and was a perfect fit for me for several years. Later, we decided to move to the coast, so I had to decide whether to pack and move the whole business, or sell it and start something new once we got settled again.
Sooo…long story short, I sold the business to a great couple who have carried on my soapmaking traditions…and we packed up and headed for the beach!
After arriving in Myrtle Beach, I took a couple of years off to relax and enjoy life. (soapmaking is HARD work!) We spent time doing projects, landscaping, planting gardens and searching for fun items I could upcycle into home decor. Along the way, I met a great gal (Amber Bradshaw of My Homestead Life), who convinced me that I should write a blog about all the things I love. So, after hemming and hawing for awhile (that’s a southern thing!), I decided to go for it!
WHAT IS MY BLOG ABOUT?
Seashells and Sweet Tea is all about the stuff we do everyday…cooking, cleaning, gardening, DIY projects and more. I look for simple ways to have fun and be creative and share them all with you. Because we live in such a beautiful area now, I also love to share stories and information about coastal life…the good, and the not-so-good! For those of you who are dreaming of running away to the beach…come along and share these experiences with me.

My goal is to make my blog a friendly place with simple projects that anyone can easily do…and have fun doing them! I welcome comments and suggestions and hope to keep adding quality content to my blog so it will be a place that everyone can enjoy and look forward to reading. I am so happy you stopped by and hope you will visit often.
