Honey Walnut Butter…even the name sounds decadent, doesn’t it? Well, it’s for good reason. This stuff is ah-ma-zing! It is loaded with real butter, honey and walnuts….and is made to be slathered on warm biscuits, toast, homemade bread or my delicious Cranberry Banana Nut Bread. This recipe is super simple to throw together, and you will be amazed at how much better everything tastes when you spread a little of this on it.
To make this recipe, you just put one stick of unsalted butter into a small mixing bowl and let it soften up a bit. While it is softening, grind up some walnuts until they are really fine. I use an old coffee grinder for this.
Add the walnuts to the mixing bowl with the butter, and then add a bit of honey. Is your mouth watering yet? Mine is!
So, now you have all your ingredients ready to go…all you have to do is mash everything together really well. You could use a hand mixer for this, but I prefer to use a fork because it is much easier to clean afterwards. Just mash everything together, mixing the ingredients as you go. Stir everything around in the dish to make sure all the ingredients are distributed throughout the butter evenly. The butter will continue to soften as you do this, making it much easier to blend together. And that’s it! It is ready to go!
You should store this Honey Walnut Butter in a small dish in the refrigerator when you are not using it. It will keep just as long as typical butter will keep. Use it on everything! Enjoy!
